The Mercer Island Farmers Market is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors who work throughout the year with the Market Manager and Assistant Market Manager to bring the best local produce, meats, cheeses, artisan crafts and musicians to the Island's summer and harvest markets.

Key Areas Where Board Candidates Can Make an Impact:  We are seeking passionate and skilled individuals to contribute to the following areas:

  • Fundraising: Drive initiatives to secure resources for our mission.

  • Grant Research and Applications: Identify opportunities, craft compelling proposals, and secure funding.

  • Marketing Expertise: Lead strategies in email marketing, social media, and social media advertising. Collaborate with staff and ensure the successful execution of campaigns to amplify our mission and grow our reach.

  • Child Table Management: Oversee and enhance programs dedicated to supporting children.

  • Multi-Generational Table Management: Lead efforts to address the needs of our senior and multi-generational communities.

  • Volunteer Support and Development: Lead efforts to inspire and grow our volunteer community by identifying, engaging, and onboarding individuals passionate about making a difference.

MIFM Board Position: The Mercer Island Farmers Market is looking to expand our board. This role is voluntary; the commitment is roughly 5 to 10 hours/month depending on the season (off-season vs in-season) and and includes monthly board meetings. The MIFM board oversees all areas of the market including marketing, operations, sponsor/donor relationships, vendor selection, and more.

The Board is supported by our Market Manager, Assistant Market Manager, Market Coordinator and numerous volunteers.​​​
