History:  The Mercer Island Farmers Market was organized in 2007-2008 by Mercer Island residents who have a passion for healthy living, a desire to offer fresh locally grown produce and who want to support our local farmers.

The first season ran August – September 2008.  Since then the market has expanded to a full season which runs from the 1st Sunday in June through the 2nd Sunday in October and on the Sunday before Thanksgiving (aka Harvest Market).

Attendance at the market, the number of vendors  and vendors sales have all grown since the first years.  MIFM is now acknowledged as an vital asset to Mercer Island, a place where family, friends and neighbors are able to gather and enjoy community.

Busines of the yearAward winning:  The MIFM market has received two community awards!

  • In 2009, the City Council of the City of Mercer Island  named the organizers and volunteers of the inaugural farmers market season “2008 Citizen of the Year”.
  • In 2013, the Mercer Island Chamber of Commerce awarded the MIFM “Business of the Year.

The Market Manager, the Board of Directors, the community volunteers and partners and our fabulous vendors all contribute to create a lively and thriving market.
